Bring GIF IT UP to your classroom!
Are you a teacher who loves getting students creative with digital heritage? GIF IT UP invites educators around the world to make GIF-making part of their lessons.
Here’s how to take part:
- Run a session
Host a GIF-making lesson, workshop or classroom activity using open-access cultural heritage material. - Select three GIFs
Together with your students, select three GIFs that best represent the creativity and learning developed during the activity. - Submit your classroom activity
Use this form to share your selected GIFs and briefly describe the activity, its learning objectives and what your students learned.
🏆 Special Prize for Teachers – Creative Learning with Digital Heritage
The prize will recognise a teacher who has used GIF-making and open cultural heritage to create a thoughtful, engaging and educational learning experience.
Classroom activities will be assessed according to their:
- Educational value and learning outcomes.
- Meaningful use of digital cultural heritage.
- Student creativity, as demonstrated by the three selected GIFs.
- Attention to copyright, attribution and responsible digital practice.

Students may also submit their GIFs independently to the main GIF IT UP competition. Any separate student submission must follow the general competition rules and will be assessed as an individual entry.
