GIF IT UP is an annual GIF-making contest that celebrates creative remixing of cultural heritage. It’s run by Europeana in partnership with organisations from around the world, including Japan Search, Art Institute of Chicago, DAG Museums, DPLA, Digital NZ, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ), Centro de Fotografía de Montevideo and Trove.
Throughout October, GIF-makers and cultural heritage fans are invited to create new GIFs from open access digital collections. Great prizes are on offer for the best entries, as judged by the public and our jury of creative experts.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Find an inspiring piece of open access cultural heritage from Europeana, DPLA, BAnQ, Digital NZ, Trove, Japan Search, Art Institute of Chicago, Centro de Fotografía de Montevideo or DAG Museums. Not sure where to start? Check out our Selected Collections page.
